| UFI was approached by a prominent american university that wanted to instrument a Multi-media Evaluation auditorium for psycho-physiological research. |
| We designed a subject signal conditioner package (based on our Simple Scope platform). Initial measures were "Beat-by-beat" Heart Rate (from an Infra-red PPG), and Skin Conductance. Additional packages have been subsequently added, supplying "Precision Rectified" EMG and Skin Conductance. |
| We also designed a multi-subject data and power network, as well as a central Data Collection controller, which compiled the data from all the subject packages into a single data set. |
| Successive data sets are sent to a PC in the control room, at high speed, through a cable running through walls and ceilings. |
| "Simple" Software running on the PC supervises data plotting and saving, as well as printing and clipboard access. |
| A different university approached UFI in 2006 about an MSDCS system for their research. They required more than 2 channels, but wanted the channel configuration flexible enough to support a number of different research protocols. The MSDCS 4.x System was born! |
|
The MSDCS 4.x package is designed to be attached to the back of the chair in which the subject is sitting. Up to 8 channels of physiological signal conditioning can be connected to the subject. USB links each MSDCS 4.x package to a PC where data collection, plotting and saving is managed by MSDCS 4.x PC Software. The MSDCS 4.x Platform supplies the following characteristics: a) Supports up to 8 channels of signal conditioning b) Signal Conditioning supplied by REMOVABLE "Plug-In" modules c) 500 Hz. Typical Parallel Sample Rate (slower rates also provided) d) USB Network Connection e) Built-in "local" Monitor capability to show data from each channel f) Partial list of signals supported: ECG, IBI/HR, EGG, EMG (Raw or Contour Follower), EOG (with DC low frequency response!), EEG, Respiration, Finger/Skin PPG, PTT, Skin Conductance, Activity, Temperature ... |
